How to: Heidi Braids

I’m really lazy when it comes to hair, but this is sooo simple to achieve. It’s easy, fast and as cute as can be.

Heidi braids are a fun alternative to a bun. It’s an adorable look a flower girl’s hair in a wedding, for a princess or a hippie or whatever you or your child is feeling that day. Grown ups can sport this look too.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • hairbrush
  • comb
  • (2) clear rubber bands
  • bobby pins (that match your hair color)
  • hairspray

 1.

Start with clean, brushed hair. Part it down the middle with your comb.

 2.

Start a braid behind your ear.

 3.

Braid it as far as you can. Fasten with rubberband.

 4.

Repeat on the next side.

 5.

Bring one braid up around the head like a headband. Secure it with a couple bobby pins.

 6.

Repeat on the other side, going the other direction.

 7.

Tuck your ends under and pin. Now, pin it all around to be sure that it’s secure.

 8.

Finish with light hairspray.

It was difficult to photograph and instruct at the same time. I hope you got the idea. Maybe next time I’ll do a video? If you have any questions feel free to comment below.

Did I tell you that I’m giving a Sonicare toothbrush away? All you have to do is “like” Mrs. Buena Vida’s facebook page to enter. Details here.
